The Way We Choose To Think! Has Serious Consequences

The Way We Choose To Think! Has Serious Consequences The Way we choose to think is pretty well established by age 13. Much is what will be our personal philosophy of life. Habits and actions follow. The more our philosophy is reinforced, the more adamant one will become. Media is one of the strongest influences, followed by school and friends. Parents finish a strong fourth. With church lagging behind in today's society. As we are exposed to these influences we are in a constant quest for affirmation of our beliefs. The world view one excepts is pretty well in place by age 13 . Our values begin to take shape as we move toward adulthood. We will do what we think is valuable. How will the children today think? What will their values be? Every book, every song, and every movie has made an indelible (permanent, lasting and ingrained) imprint in the minds of those who have experienced it. A chemical imprint in the mind. The practices and words at home have been the model for our children. What they see and what is shown to be a priority will be poured into the canals of their brains. This is why there is such a drive to conquer the minds of the children. Throughout history, the despots and political philosophers have always looked for ways to conquer the hearts of the children. Because so goes a nation, as the hearts of that generation are scorched for the purpose of change. We must as parents be on constant guard that the information our children are taking in is not causing them to make the wrong decisions. Yes we must teach the TRUTH so they will be able to distinguish the right and wrong. The only absolute truth is found in Gods Word, the Bible. Regardless of age we are influenced. The question for you is what influences you? The world is full of influences and the myriad of choice is abundant. The big question is; how many of those choices have success printed on them? How many lead to destructive behavior and much pain and suffering? Every choice carries with it a consequence. What disciplines are you teaching your children? Everything we do has an affect on something or someone else. God has the very best plan and the very best future available. And we all know that to be true we just are often unwilling to summit our lives to Him. Call it stubborn, call it lazy or call it personal pride; it doesn't matter ... Down deep you know it's the Truth Children who one day will grow into adults and honorable citizens will do best by following the Truths laid out in Gods Word. If a young child is properly instructed, he or she get as readily to believe in Jesus as any adult. Their little lives can have Gods spirit living in them and they can have the almighty, all knowing, everywhere God as the "boss" of their lives. Remember from that point on, what we believe influences what we choose, what we choose defines who we are, and who we are attracts like minded people, our peers. The life choices and decisions are seen through a different lens as it focuses on life's questions and many of the challenges inherent in life. A great Bible study for all those of you who have children: Read and pray about these verses then look for even more verses that God instructs us how to see and raise our children. There is freedom in the TRUTH. Proverbs 22:6 Deuteronomy 6:7 III John 1:4 Deuteronomy 11: 18-19 Ephesians 6: 1-4
