Is it when you feel like it? If it is, may I encourage you to not build your life and your ministry around feelings. Recognize that life is not always positive or easy, and even can be very difficult. We find it easy and even exciting when things are going well, but the question is how do you react when things are not so good or down right hard? Beth and I have ridden the roller coaster of life, business, and ministry. But as followers of Christ, we believe we do all things for Him and His glory. We have a web-site entitled www.Bbexcellentadventure.com with a tag line "Ministry is a blast!" This is our presupposition and affirmation we choose knowing full well we are not yet in heaven. Oh yes, you can count on difficulties, frustrations and disappointments in life, business, and ministry, even though called by God to what you are doing. As believers in Christ we have a responsibility to walk in the Spirit of God but we often don’t. If you choose to be lazy, frustrated, antagonized, or unhappy, it is your choice. The Bible says, “Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS in good or bad times." How you see things is the starting point of doing your best work. Do you see what you are doing as YOUR work or do you see it as God’s work? How different would you work when and if you considered God as your employer or God as the CEO of your company? For those on the mission field, what if God was the primary focus of all we do and His glory was the prominent focus? How different would “Your“ ministry look? How different would your work ethic be? What would be your excitement level? Our best work is often done when things are most difficult... Why? Because dependence draws us to deeper prayer life. The need and the desire is often again defined and re prioritized and we start looking for answers and solutions. The vision is enhanced and brightened. God uses these moments of time to draw him to the sufficiency of God and His Son, Jesus. In the devotional book, "The Upmost For The Highest" by Oswald chambers, the author says it so well, “whether we feel Like it or not. if we only do what we are inclined to do, some of us would do nothing for ever and ever.” He goes on, “The proof that we are rightly related to God is that we do our best whether we feel inspired or not.” Ministry is a blast!
