We talk to a lot of people, but do you realize who you talk to most? Self talk is the message you have with yourself after every action or non action. It’s what you say to yourself to rationalize your beliefs. Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re usually right. I find very few great things are accomplished without reinforcing the thought, that with God I can. We usually revert to the position of I can’t because our self talk is one of limited power, strength or commitment. What you accept as Truth is what your mind will fight to reinforce. What the mind thinks results in the actions you usually take. Ephesians 2:10 is a great starting point to have self talk that is trans formative. The verse says, “For we are His ( God’s ) workmanship. Created in Christ Jesus for His (God’s) good work... “ Think about those words. G O D ‘ S W O R K M A N S H I P! We are chosen to accomplish and to accomplish, we must recognize the same God that created everything and showed his mighty power to do so, lives in each of those who name Christ as their Savior and Lord. This same God directs and provides everything we need to accomplish anything we are called to do. So many times, I see people who live very limited lives in business and ministry. So many times I witness the devil steal self worth and limited the limitless as we tell ourselves the possible is impossible. Change the conversation with yourself in your mind. Listen to what you are saying to you, your self talk. Instead, pray and ask for wisdom and discernment .. then act with bold confidence. Replace lies and false conception with Truth. Think bigger, see bigger and act bigger. Learn to take “God risks”; risks that can only be accomplished in His power. Paint Him into every equation of living. Ask God to see yourself as He sees you. When you don’t know how it can be done, it is great fun to see how God Himself will accomplish it through you. It is also extremely humbling and a thrill to give the glory and praise to Him. Use your private self talk to honor and glorify Him in much deeper ways. God is looking for men and women that truly can trust and obey Him, even if their limiting self talk screams “I can’t - I have never done this before and I am not capable.” Start to change your self talk to God Talk. Philippians 4:13 “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:8 says, “ Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any Excellence, if there is anything of praise, think about these things.”
