Man is and has always looked for a formula for success. Today we look for formulas to live healthy, longer and satisfied lives. Seems like the book shelves and blog sights are overflowing with simple formulas for everything. I realize Life is never as easy as just a formula and neither is success. I will however chime in with a simple formula that seems to increase the possibility of success in your leadership. It definitely can revolutionize your business and or ministry. D + B = E x E DESIRE The formula starts off with D, which is Desire. What are your deepest desires? What is you strongest want or what is the biggest wish in your life? What are you craving or longing for? Many leaders today do not understand that a desire for success is the first step to leadership. God places it in your heart through his Spirit, desire. I believe we are all born with a purpose. Take time to identify your purpose and what you are here to do. Then pursue that purpose with passion and enthusiasm. Always keep in focus the question what does God want, and you can never go wrong. With God, learn to dream big; it will not only inspire you, but will also compel others to want to play big too. BELIEF Then + B for belief. Believe it is possible. With God in control, everything is possible. Be expectant of needed support and opportunities as God opens and closes doors. Your view of God and His love, power, purity, and sovereignty will become the starting point in your belief structure. Then having belief in yourself is the second part of belief. As you understand your identity in Christ, this will be less blurred and more focused. Do you recognize you are His special and unique possession? Do you treasure the fact you were handpicked by God and have been given gifts and talents for His use through you? Do you realize you are loved with an everlasting love. God is all in when it comes to you and I being successful in His eyes. You are His Child. You are protected by His hands. The third part of belief is the belief in others. Learn to extend grace and speak the truth. Often we fail to realize God will bring others into the intersections of our lives. We as leaders sometimes ignore and even snub others. Sometimes we think they are out of our league or we see them as undeserving or with skill gaps. The reality is they divinely were led into your path for a reason. Some will be connectors, some will teach you an important lesson, and others are going to become an integral part of the success picture God has been preparing ahead of you. It is wise to see others as important. Think back to almost any achievement; did others help you to achieve it? Equals ENTHUSIASM Enthusiasm or passion drives the actions necessary to achieve the desires God lays on your heart. Enthusiasm and curiosity are difficult. It brushes off you and attaches on to others. It lets others know what you are doing is important and you enjoy what you are doing. Hard work without enthusiasm leads to tedious work and burn out, a very common fact of life in ministry and business today. Enthusiasm is the electricity that charges the room for action and momentum. Enthusiasm is the serious motivator if you are truthful and passionate about you believe or do. Think for a moment about your intensity of enthusiasm for what you do or what you believe??? I can tell you from experience the deeper your belief the more impact because of the fruit of enthusiasm. The most enthusiastic and passionate always win because it is rooted in deep belief and desire. Enthusiasm is the intense zeal that feeds the opportunities God sets before you. This Multiplies EXPOSURES Exposure To opportunities, resources and people is a key to success. Success not only leaves clues but also leads to expanded horizons. Because of the infectious nature of enthusiasm your exposure to others and ideas is exponential and is far reaching. People are drawn to you like a magnet. You begin move in completely different circles and opportunities will multiply. This will lead to the growth from a revived, tired, old mundane, view of life, business, or ministry. If you find yourself just surviving or drowning in your business or ministry, it time for a check up from the neck up and an even deeper inspection of your heart and soul. Have you lost the desire, dream or vision? Have you forgotten those deep core beliefs that lead you in the beginning of your business venture? Has ministry gotten “moldy, muddy-mundane, and now has become an everyday-struggle? Get excited and watch God do a mighty work IN and Through you. Become infectious with the glorious message God has for your life.
