Knowing what do to when you don’t know what to do. I was recently reminded of this fact as I was driving through an Arizona monsoon. One moment the windshield was clear and the sun was shining. The next moment the windshield was draped with a torrent of water as lightning flashed and deafening thunder crashed all around me. The visibility I had enjoyed moments earlier was now a memory as I struggled to see out the same windshield, which just moments before had peacefully opened the door to clearly see my next move. This is so applicable to the business and ministry world of today. Here are some things to remember when sudden change shakes your world: Keep your vision and dream in focus. Think, but be willing to move quickly. Agility is a key in overcoming sudden change. Learn to change and adapt quickly. Don’t let fear thwart your efforts. Most important; call out to God for His wisdom, His guidance and His protection. Develop confidence in the midst of trouble by turning to the source of our confidence. Think and prepare as much as possible for such change. Messages from God’s Word can bring hope in the midst of change: Hebrews 13:8. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.” Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with you wherever you go.” Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Change is always a challenge, but sudden change is even more difficult. Sudden change is often without warning and without our approval. This is when your faith muscles are stretched and God can often use this time to bring us to a point of total and complete surrender. These are the moments in life where I have experienced the end of myself/my answers and recognized my only answer and solution was though the mercy and grace of God. Change is coming, change is here and it is all of our futures. Gain a solid foothold by studying God’s Word. Then fasten your Spiritual seat belts for what is coming.
