With great privilege comes great responsibility. We are called to be the light carriers to the world. We are called to be the light of the world. The Bible says; Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its taste, how shall it’s saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are a light to the world.... let your light shine before others, so they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” What am I speaking of when I talk about light? Jesus calls Himself the light of the world in John 1:4-5 We are called to reflect this light the very nature of Jesus Himself. How to overcome the turmoil of the world: 1. We are called to reflect His love, compassion, and forgiveness. When the nations see the difference Jesus has made in our individual lives they will be drawn to Him. Each of your testimonies are important. Live your life differently so that your life is a magnet drawing people to Christ. Let people see you praying and studying God’s Word and following it. Live it - don’t be the stumbling block for those who are lost in darkness. How shall the world know the truth. We are the truth carriers. The Bible says, “For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on who they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him they have not heard? How shall they hear without a preacher?” Desire to see the spiritual change which leads to all other change. Determine to not succumb to the status quo. Realize you are not powerless. There is great amount of pessimism in our world today and it seems to often paralyze people. A sense of hopelessness seems to permeate much of society. This is a perfect opening for the Truth of God’s Word. We must have the want to share His Word. The way to accomplish this;
A: Learn how to present the gospel and memorize the verses in God’s Word that are applicable. Campus Crusade or Cru has tools for this. Child Evangelism Fellowship has a very simple but effective way to present the gospel; The Wordless Book. There is great training when the student is ready.
B: Call on the Holy Spirit that lives inside you. The Bible says, the Holy Spirit stands ready to help. John 14:26 is a great verse to explain this. This verse says, “But the helper, the Holy Spirit , whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
C: Pray for those who are sharing Christ in this dark, evil and distressed world. Pray for them as they open doors and pray that they will be effective. Pray that those who share Christ will have their love deepen and become increasingly averse to all that is unholy.
D: Give sacrificially and partner with others going, with great joy. God does honor and reward these gifts as they bring glory to Him. “Glorify God and enjoy him forever.”
