Leadership With The Best Masterminds

Business success and Ministry success begins with prayer and seeking the highest of the Masterminds- The Triune God. It also revolves around setting goals, doing strategic planning and implementing the operating systems to achieve the plan. Each year, at least the leadership should sit down together and do some blue sky thinking. They should open their minds to the "Impossible". Think bigger than they've ever thought possible. Author David Schwartz, in the book Think Big writes, " it is just as easy to think big as it is to think small." Study your setbacks but do not dwell on them. You will find new actions and dreams will again be revitalized and refreshed in the organization you lead. Be creative and let your imagination go wild as you think through new and exciting possibilities. Mastermind meetings are my favorite meetings because they are all about doing something that's never been done before, with challenges and great things in mind. The mind is stretched, often hanging on what is humanly impossible, but God sized in every way. It so much fun to see a group of people light up and and let there imaginations fly as they together develop the plans and unite as a force of one, to accomplish the goal and the vision God has placed on their hearts and minds. It is like an artist who starts out with a blank canvas and a pallet of paint, then dipping his brush into the paint and with the swipe of the color, the painting begins a journey. The artist has a picture in his mind, and soon that picture graces every edge of the canvas for all to see. Or think of it like an orchestra. The conductor has all the music, and each musician of the various musical instruments has their own set of notes to focus on. As you listen to the orchestra warm up, nothing makes sense; the noise is deafening as notes mix in awkward sound. This is when everyone is pronouncing their own language in a group of mixed tongues. Then, the lights dim the room becomes very quiet. The conductor steps onto the podium with the spotlight focused on him or her. With his hands raised high he drops one hand, and from that moment on the music begins flowing with a melody only imagined before. The mastermind is a time of far-fetched and even off the wall ideas culminating in a plan of action that all end up on the same page. Implementing with synergy and energy is the great reward. The mastermind can also be a forum for analysis and correction, always focusing on solutions. In my years in business and now in ministry, the mastermind meetings have always been one of the methods I have used to move ahead. One final thing to remember is that a mastermind meeting is best if it is made up of like minds, always positive but not always in total agreement. Napoleon Hill wrote about masterminds saying, "No two minds come together without creating a third, which create a third invisible mind. " As Christians this is a reality everyday because God provided the added advantage of His Spirit to guide, direct, and give us the thoughts of God Himself. Giving us access to the very mind of Christ is an amazing thought. John 15:15 says, "I am the vine, you are the branches, if you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." 1 Corinthians 2:15 says "have the mind of Christ." Having the mind of Christ means sharing the plan, the purpose, and the perspective of Christ. Things to remember: 1. Each person participating does benefit the whole of the group. 2. A mastermind will accelerate the business or ministry into a new orbit. 3. Different resources, perspectives with similar drive and commitment intersect to grow and expand the vision. 4. The mastermind will help you as a leader to gain new insights.
