I Don't Care ...And I Don't Care That I Don't Care There has been a consistent trend to placing blame and finding fault rather finding remedies. Apathy and the unwillingness to look Truth in the eye and take a stand has become the curse of our society. Sometimes it is because people really don't care. Sometimes, it is because it is not immediately understood the long term consequences of choices. Sometimes it is because it is just plain old procrastination that draws one down this road. Indifference, unconcern, and unresponsiveness are terms shared on the devils playground. This is a crutch for the paralyzed life that apathy leans against. This is where many live today. It is too small of a group of people that care; most don't care that they don't care. There is another outlook available and that is what needs to spark inside you. It is a new and refreshing truth. You can make difference. You can be thankful. You can be happy. You can be effective and fun. It all starts in our heart and works its way to the mind and then outward rather than inward. You can care! Set a new goal ...dream. Dream big; a new dream. Set out intentionally to serve someone else. Get involved with giving money, time, and effort, and watch what happens to your heart and your smile. Energy and vitality will return to your life. Enthusiasm will flood your soul and purpose will return to your life. Having a goal helps you to re-engage with life. I have been blessed to work with volunteers from the adopting churches for Good News Clubs in North America and the Caribbean. I have watched as I share the exciting vision of reaching our children in the public schools with the gospel. As I explain the difference, the listener can make eternally as well as the difference they will make in the great American experiment. It is fun to watch the glimmer of hope leak into their minds. Then the river flows into an ocean as they recognize the possibilities. Possibilities cascade into action that causes change to happen. Thanks to a new heart of concern, and hope that only God can take credit for, boys and girls lives are changed for eternity and these children become the new foundation for the future of American society. A new fighter in the culture wars is born. A new member of the "CHURCH" arises. Truth continues to flourish as the next generation takes the helm. The fact is the volunteers change too. They have experienced Christ up front and center. They have seen Him work as they watch the transformation of a life. They have memorized the scriptures the children are memorizing and listen to the Bible happenings (Bible Stories). They are no longer apathetic and unconcerned, they feel that they are involved in and a part of something much bigger than themselves. Their own problems become smaller and life takes on another dimension of love, joy, peace, and happiness. Life becomes a mission without impossibilities as they watch God do the impossible. Spiritual apathy and coldness are even more deeply disturbing. 1. Be sure you know you are truly saved. John 3:16 2. Check your life if you have made the decision to trust and believe Jesus to be your Savior. See if your life has any sin budding in your life. 1 John 1:9 3. Do you believe Christ is with you and loves you? Do you believe Gods Holy Spirit is living in you? 4. What are you doing to serve your Savior and Lord who lifted you out of your sin and opened the door to eternal life in heaven for you? The devil thrives among apathetic people. Don't allow it anymore. Don't allow yourself to be counted as part of the apostasy (the great falling away and rejection). Start smiling, loving and serving today!
