God Knows All And Hates Sin... But Is Good... Moses, the writer of the Pentateuch, the first Five books of the Bible (including the Ten Commandments), had to spend his first forty years as the adopted son of the great Pharaohs daughter, the princess of mighty Egypt. He did this so he could learn to read and write multiple languages. He thought he was ready to deliver his people out of bondage. But God knew he needed forty years in the desert to teach him not only humility, but to prepare Him for a forty year trek through the desert with the nation of Israel. If you are going through something you don't understand, relax and learn the lessons He is teaching you and know God is sovereign. God uses the deserts of life to often change hearts and prepare leaders. The apostle Paul's conversion happened when he was in the desert of Arabia for three years; this is where The Holy Spirit taught Him. This is where Paul learned his "theology", and what was truly important to God. The truth was now his passion, and he was to bring the message to the world. This was a time of reevaluation for all he had believed up to this point. A time to reflect and a time to prepare for future ministry. Nations also face the deserts of history. Many great and mighty nations have learned things the hard way and history is replete with examples of people and nations being taken to the desert to remember and repent. Some being restored, but many never to the prominent point that they once held in history. Israel turned its back and failed to trust and believe God, disobeyed the Lord, and found themselves wandering the desert for 40 years. In the time of the judges, the people would trust God and prosperity would follow. The people would lose sight of God and Judgement would follow. A desert experience would follow. History shows that when a nation and their people turn the backs on God ... That nation often finds themselves walking the desert for years and worse. We can never forget that Gods way trumps Mans way. God is good and has the best plan for each of us. Choose ye this day whom you will serve. To know the truth and even use the word of God as the instrument one lays his hand upon in the oath of office, and then to turn our backs on those very words says a lot about how far we have strayed. I have visited the many government building and states that honor freedom. The word of God adorns those historical edifices and so many of the statutes that grace our nations Capitol. So many who lead have failed to apply those words and in fact instead have gone against those words. If we don't watch out, our blessings may turn to a desert and we will all be walking in it for years to come ..thinking about our past with many years to think and pray for repentance. A special note to those pushing division and lies, you may just get your wish ...and it will be nothing like you imagine. Desert and nomadic living is not easy. But God....
